OEC – The Observatory of Economic Complexity
This is a site I’ve found recently. The Observatory of Economic Complexity gives you the detailed economical statistics of a country. You can see which country imports what to where. This may prove as an useful data source when trying to formulate an economical foundation in an article. The only downside I’ve found is, the statistics are from 2015. But apart from that it is very informative and both concise and detailed depending on the data you require.
For example if I wanted to see what Turkey imported in 2015, I can select Turkey from the country dropdown and see the details:
You can also see what Turkey exported to Russia in 2015, this data starts from 1965 by the way. So you can see how those two countries interact in a 50 year period:
All in all I like this piece of software and really do think it may prove useful especially when writing the economical interactions between two countries. Hope you also like it.
